I have already read this book twice, and I loved it both times. There are parts where I laugh out loud, and other parts where I can't put the book down for the suspense! The first time I read this book I read the whole thing in one day because I wanted to see who killed Henry. I really enjoyed hearing the story from Teddy's point of view- his pranks and his opinions about other people's lack of knowledge of animals were amusing. One example was when he described what people were wearing to the party when Carnivore Canyon opened. A few questions:
Who killed Henry? Why?
What are some things that make FunJungle different from other zoos?
Why is J.J.'s idea of building amusement park rides a bad one?
Teddy originally thinks Summer has a great life, but he starts to change his mind. Whose life would you rather have- Teddy's or Summer's? Why?
Teddy continues to investigate Henry's murder, even after someone tries to kill him. Would you have investigated the murder yourself? If so, would you do anything differently? If not, what would you do instead?
What part of the story was your favorite? Why?
As you read the book, who did you suspect had murdered Henry? Were you surprised when you found out who the killer really was?
My favorivte part was when large marge hit the news repoters in the head with a rolled up newspaper because she didn't want the news to report that Henery the hippo was dead.
funjungle is different from other zoos because they have different things then other zoos and funjungle is really popular and lots of familys visit them.
When I was at the part where someone let the black mamba out, I seriously thought the killer was Buck because he could have easily shut down all the video cameras and done his dastardly work of setting the mamba out, yes, he did that to and set the lion out, as well. Anyway, when I found out who the killer was, which is, in fact, Buck, I knew exactly why. He was the one who was listening to Teddy while he called the police about Henry. He was the one who let the tiger out, but the lion wasn't meant for Teddy, it was meant for Doc. So, my prediction was correct.
My favorite part of the story was when Summer and Teddy went into the hippo enclosure to find out what the tool was to kill Henry {he went to the autopsy}. This was my favorite part because Summer actually took her clothes off all the way down to her underwear! Also, they were very creative of using the garden hoses as oxygen tubes for going in the enclosure. Another funny part in this setting is when they found the spiked jack in the corner of Henry's enclosure. THis was funny because we, as readers, know that Henry was murdered when Teddy went to the autopsy. Since the murder weapon was at the corner of Henry's enclosure, that means that the jack traveled through his digestive system and he let nature take its course!!! This are my favorite parts and why.
My favirite part of belly up is when they take him to the vet to get check on the henry the hippo. Because ... they were trying to find out what was wrong with him but he was atshuly he was dead but the dotors didn't tell them that henry the hippo was dead
my favorite part was another was when someone thought that henry (hippo) commited suicide then someone said how on earth can a hippopotomaus comite suicide!!!.Another was when the monkeys started throwing poop at the tourist. That part made me spit milk out of my nose twice I guess monkeys are pretty smart when it comes to battle.
My faivrte part of belly up is when the dotors, did not tell the parnets that henry the hippo died because... he ate the very very sharp things that could die very very eazy.
Question 6: my favorite part is when Henry died,I know it may sound sad but I ,loved the description and how it told me everything that was going on and the color of the water and how he was laying!
Before I finished the book I thought the killer was going to be Martin since he was always really mean but I was not surprised when I found out that Buck had been the killer because he seemed suspicious.
At first I thought it was Doc who killed Henry because he was sorta a jerk in my book(Not really this book but my thought)but, when I figured out it was Buck that killed Henry I was surprised.
My new favorite part of the book was when Teddy and his Mom were saved by the tiger.That reminded me of the movie life of Pi because he had to live with a tiger but he was never saved.But, I also thought should that tiger be tamed? because he is a zoo animal.
I loved belly up because Stuart Gibbs made it an adventure story really when it was a mystery book I was excited to flip every page because I never knew what was going to happen for example the tiger was escaped its pen and was going after ted and his mom and Mr.McCracken took summers hand ran like the wind and made the tiger target ted and his mom then Ted's dad comes out of the shadows and hit the tiger in the head so thats why I say that belly up is a thrill ride charles
