I read "Scumble" last year for Battle of the Books (the sequel to "Savvy") so I was looking forward to reading this book. I think I liked "Scumble" better, so I suggest reading it if you get a chance. The idea of these magical people living in our world interested the "Harry Potter" fan in me, and I have enjoyed both of these books. I really enjoyed the part of the book where they pick up Lill. The scene where they get into trouble at the diner had me cracking up- especially when they took off with the banana cream pie. I also enjoyed reading about their stay in the hotel- it was funny to read about the things that Lill bought for them and I enjoyed reading about how Bobbi and Mibs started to form a friendship in the pool. I also enjoyed reading about the different problems that were caused by the family's savvies. I think if I could choose a savvy I would want the one that Mibs' mom has- I hate making mistakes and I'd love to be able to make perfect things! A few questions:
Mibs wishes, at least temporarily, that her savvy would give her the power to get the girls at her school to stop being mean. Why do they tease Mibs? What would you do if someone was teasing you like this?
Describe Mibs relationships with one of her family members. How do their savvies affect their relationship- positively and negatively?
Do you think people are born with specific talents like Grandpa tells Mibs, or do people have to work at developing them? What talents do you wish you had?
Which of the family's savvies would you want? Why? Would you want to have Mibs' ability? Why or why not?
Mibs discovers a lot of things about herself as she gets older. What are some things you have learned about yourself in the past year?
How does Mibs figure out what her savvy is? How is this savvy different from what she hoped for?
What do you think wakes Poppa up at last? Do you think it has anything to do with someone's savvy?
I would have Mibs savvy, because her savvy is being able to hear peoples thoughts if they have any tattoos or pen on there body's. And i would be able to hear what people are thinking about. But i would be a little anoying to hear people all the time.
I think people are born with special talents. I believe this because I am born with a talent to play sports because I have always found interest in baseball. Noah Watkins has a special talent to play basketball. Jarrett and Fully have a special talent to play Lacrosse. This is why I believe that people are born with special talents. One talent that I wish I could have is skateboarding. I wish I could have this talent is because of two reasons. One, I have a skateboard ready to go. Two, well, simply, I just want to skate and have fun with my buds.
I don't think people are born with special talents because I don't think people are born with the power to her peoples thoughts if they have ink on there body, but some people are born with talents but not special talents like the power to control weather that's well impossible. Some people are born with talents like sports related talents.
I would love to have mibs moms abilaty to be perfect because i think that i mess up alot so it would be nice to not mess up for once. There are some flaws that i realized in the book as i went on reading. These flaws were her moms flaws. Flaw one she could have only a little bit of friends because some people do not like people being perfect all the time. Flaw number two i do not think any body thaght about this but i did so i thaght if she can do evry thing perfect cant she messup perfectley to.
